A new interactive mapping tool has been launched by the quantum team at Innovate UK Business Connect, aimed at highlighting the country’s quantum capabilities and helping users identify relevant stakeholders across this growing ecosystem.

The UK National Quantum Technologies Programme is widely recognised as an exemplar of a nationally coordinated, strategic and visionary initiative aimed at providing the funding support and necessary collaborative conditions between academia, industry and government to create a quantum enabled economy. The success of the programme is evident in the growth of the UK quantum sector as represented by the increasing number and diverse nature of relevant groups and organisations.

The new tool – an updated version of the original, 2020 iteration – lists over 350 businesses and over 300 research groups, as well as national labs (National Physical Laboratory’s Quantum Metrology Institute and the National Quantum Computing Centre) and fabrication facilities, links to the network of five Quantum Technology Hubs, and information on doctoral training centres and relevant postgraduate programmes.
